Name That Vancouver Restaurant No. 6

Here's a quick round of everyone's favourite Nancyland game, "Name That Vancouver Restaurant." This small Japanese restaurant quietly turns out some amazingly creative and tasty food, and sits at the foot of a bridge to Richmond. The chef has submitted a recipe to the fun little cookbook, Vancouver Cooks, which has dishes from chefs all over town. I browsed through a copy of the book in the restaurant, while waiting for my "Eggplant Volcano" and now I want to pick up a copy. I definitely think this place deserves more attention. Name that Vancouver Restaurant!

[takes a bow] yahoo, my first win !

Interestingly I read some very mixed reviews (some downright negative) about Japone. Gripes include very slow service to small portions etc.

But I want to hear what your experience was like there.

As regular Nancylanders (like SaabKen) may have noticed, I try to use the Name That Vancouver Restaurant Game as a teaser for upcoming full review posts. So a Japone post is coming soon, including comments about the service. I've been a bit out of the scene lately, and haven't ever read any reviews on Japone. This one is just one of my driving- around-and-trying-something-that-looks-interesting finds. Not surprisingly though, the service and portion to price ratio were things I noted as well. However, neither of these issues bothered me enough in my three visits to make for a negative experience. More to come. Thanks for your comment, saabken!

No problemo ! It's way easier for me to be the armchair foodie than to be the actual foodie warrior like you ...... all the visual tastes and none of the calories :-D
